Research on the Subject of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)The study reviews the CFPB authority, its main function, its mandate and its activities. In particular, the Authority’s activity with respect to the banks is examined. Moreover, the study provides a brief overview of the British Authority (Financial Conduct Authority, FCA).
The study examined the activities of the CFPB in the three stages of regulation: designing the regulation, supervising its implementation and enforcing activities. The study examines who are the financial institutions the CFPB supervises; the relationship between the CFPB and other supervisory organizations, and its administrative structure. Lastly, the study highlights the criticism on the CFPB’s activities and different proposals for reform.
